Parent Leadership Training Institute

We are pleased to announce that a new session of the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) will begin on August 17th, 2019.  The program will offer leadership training to 25 selected parents in the Springfield area.

Not only are parents their children’s first and most important teacher, they are the best advocates for children in society.  Parents can speak out on issues and inform policymakers, the media, and other parents of the needs of our families.

The Parent Leadership Training Institute will offer a stimulating program that will boost parent leadership skills to address issues of concern such as child health, quality education, and neighborhood safety.  Participants will learn to become a strong voice for the next generation.

The course begins with a retreat on Saturday, September 7th, 2019.  Classes will be on mostly Monday evenings from 5-9 p.m. for 20 weeks in.  We will provide dinner and child care for the 20 classes. Additionally, we have funds to help defray the costs of transportation, etc. that you might incur.

Candidates will be selected from a large pool of applicants.  We will select parents who have an interest in leadership, seek to improve the region for the sake of children and are interested in learning leadership skills within a group of diverse parents.

The training is offered at a special cost: your time, commitment and to mentor the next classes.  There is no fee, to you, for the class.  Please consider whether this is the right program at the right time for you.

If you have any questions or would like to complete an application, please contact call Diamond at 417-888-2020 or send an email to dnetzer@cpozarks.org.  You will be called to schedule an interview in person or by phone.
