The Springfield Affordable Housing Center is a one-stop housing and homelessness prevention service center that provides a centralized access point for affordable housing and homeless resources, information, eligibility screenings and referrals.
For over a decade, the need for streamlined access to affordable housing services has been identified as a red flag issue in the Ozarks. Community Partnership of the Ozarks and the City of Springfield opened the Center in 2013, providing a centralized location where residents can access multiple agencies and organizations offering safe, decent and affordable housing resources and support services. Key providers currently operating out of the Center include One Door; the Springfield Community Land Trust; Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri; Missouri Department of Social Services—Family Support Division; Missouri Work Assistance; Habitat for Humanity; Burrell Behavioral Health; Veterans’ Administration; and more. Each of these agencies provides important services onsite in the continuum of care for people seeking stability and affordable housing solutions.
The Springfield Affordable Housing Center is conveniently located at 300 E. Central, across the street from City Utilities in City Government Plaza, with a bus stop directly in front of the center for easy access to public transportation.
Springfield Affordable Housing Center hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* Inclement weather policy: If Springfield Public Schools are closed, the Springfield Affordable Housing Center will also be closed.
